Finger Templates

When using the fingerprint options of a Qqest time clock, the ClockLink utility is used to upload your stored finger templates to the TimeForce database. This allows you to keep a backup of your templates, and to transfer the templates from one clock to another. This section of the program allows you to manage the templates being stored in the program database.

From this screen you can view which employees have been enrolled with a finger template and on which time clock existing templates are stored. You can also delete existing templates.

Note: Fingerprint options are available with specific models of time clock only.

Managing Finger Templates

  1. Click on the main Admin navigation tab, and then on the Finger Templates link located under the Clock Controls section of the screen. The main "Finger Templates" screen opens.

  2. The Sort by fields allow you to select the order in which the fingerprint templates will be displayed. Make the desired selections from the drop-down menus. Put a check mark in the Group Results option if you would like the displayed results to be grouped by your sort setting. With this option selected, employee and template totals will be calculated by group.

  3. Put a check mark in the box next to each option that you would like to view for the found finger templates. The available options are as follows:

    • Employee Name: Shows the name of the employee that the displayed finger template belongs to.

    • Employee ID: Shows the assigned employee ID for each displayed finger template.

    • Card #: Shows the card number that the employee is assigned to in their employee profile.

    • Department Name: Shows the assigned default department level for each employee to whom the displayed finger templates belong.

    • Finger: The time clock allows you to enroll multiple fingers for each employee. Select this option to view all of the displayed employee's finger templates.

  4. Once you have specified the desired criteria, click on the [DISPLAY] icon to view finger templates.

Finger templates are displayed in the lower section of the screen located directly below the [DISPLAY] icon.

The following information is displayed for each finger template (depending on your selection in the Options section of the screen).

  • Employee Name: This column shows the name of the employee to whom the displayed finger template belongs.

  • Employee ID: This column shows the Employee ID that is assigned to the employee to whom the finger template belongs.

  • Card #: This column shows the card number that is assigned to the employee to whom the finger template belongs.

  • Department Name: This column displays the default department level that is assigned to the employee in the TimeForce software.

  • Finger: The time clock allows you to enroll multiple fingers for each employee. This column displays each template assigned to the employee.

  • Description: This column displays the ID of the time clock on which the template was created.

  • Index: When using multiple templates for an employee, each template is assigned a unique index number. This number is shown in this column.

Deleting Finger Templates

Note: The finger templates in the TimeForce database are separate from the templates stored in the time clock. If you delete a template from the database, that template will still exist in the time clock until deleted from the clock memory. The ClockLink utility is used to manage templates that are being stored by a time clock.

In order to delete finger templates, you need to ensure that the Finger option is selected when bringing up a template list.

  1. Scroll to the desired finger template in the list.

  2. Put a check mark in the box located next to the setting in the Finger column.

  3. Click on the [DELETE] icon located in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.

The selected finger templates are removed from the TimeForce database.
