How Do I Edit Or Delete Existing Departments?
Editing an Existing Department
Each existing department is listed under the Department Structure header.
To edit or view an existing department, click on the department name.
View or edit the data as desired, and click on the [FINISH/SAVE] icon
to save your changes.
Deleting A Department
The system will not allow you to delete a department level that has
punches assigned to it in the Time Card section of the program. Only
departments with no assigned punches can be deleted. You
can, however, deactivate a department level. This
removes the department from the list of available departments throughout
the system, while still retaining the department's profile and historical
information.
Each existing department is listed under the Department
Structure header. Click
on the name of the desired department level. In
the screen that opens to the right, click on either the [DELETE] or [DEACTIVATE]
icon.
Note: The [DELETE] icon will only
be available if no punches are assigned to the department in the Time
Card section of the program. Deleting
a department unassigns all employees. It
is recommended that you reassign your employees to their new department
before deleting a department level.
Inactive departments are displayed under the main Department
Structure header with a status of (inactive).
Click on
the [ACTIVATE] icon to re-activate a department level.
