Pay Type Definitions
The following pay types
are available in the TimeForce system:
Hourly
The amount of pay that
an hourly employee receives is calculated from the number of hours on
their time card, and their specified pay rate. Additional
policies can be set up to award employees with an accelerated pay rate
(such as overtime, premium pay, etc.).
All types of "overtime"
can be applied to hourly employees.
Salaried (Exempt)
The amount of pay that
a "Salaried (Exempt)" employee receives is not calculated from
the hours on the employee's time card. The
employee receives the same amount of pay regardless of the number of hours
worked.
The Pay
Rate and Units are specified
for each employee.
Example: An employee receives $25,000 per year. "25000.00"
would be entered into the first box in the Pay
Rate field. "Annually"
would be selected from the drop-down menu.
Although the system will
track overtime hours for a "Salaried (Exempt)" employee, no
accelerated rate of pay will be given for the overtime hours worked.
In order to receive pay
for a pay period, employees must have at least one minute on their time
card. Salaried
employees receive a full pay period's pay for any number of hours worked.
Salaried (Non Exempt)
With the exception of pay
for overtime hours, the amount of pay that a "Salaried (Non Exempt)"
employee receives is not calculated from the hours on the employee's time
card. The
employee receives the same amount of pay regardless of the number of hours
worked.
The Pay
Rate and Units are specified
for each employee.
Example: An employee receives $550 per week. "550.00"
would be entered into the first box in the Pay
Rate field. "Weekly"
would be selected from the drop-down menu.
Unlike a "Salaried
(Exempt)" employee, a "Non Exempt" employee can earn an
accelerated rate of pay for overtime hours worked.
Important: Non Exempt employees will receive pay for "Weekly"
overtime only. No
other type of overtime (as in "Daily," or "7 Day Consecutive")
will be applied to the employee. In
order for a salaried employee to receive weekly overtime, the "units"
in the Pay Rate field must match the employee's pay
period. For
example, if an employee is assigned to a "Weekly" pay period,
their pay rate units must also be set to "Weekly." If
an employee is assigned to a "Daily" pay period, their pay rate
units must also be set to "Daily," etc.
In order to receive pay
for a pay period, employees must have at least one minute on their time
card. Salaried
employees receive a full pay period's pay for any number of hours worked.
Commission (Non Base)
A "Commission (Non
Base)" employee does not receive an hourly or
salaried pay rate. All
wages are earned through disbursement entries at the time clock.
Although the system will
track overtime hours for this type of employee, no accelerated pay rate
will be awarded for overtime hours worked.
Commission (Base)
A "Commission (Base)"
employee receives a salary in addition to any pay from disbursement entries
at the time clock.
Although the system will
track overtime hours for this type of employee, no accelerated pay rate
will be awarded for overtime hours worked.
