Creating a Net Clock Instance

  1. From the row of tabs that runs across the top of the screen, click on "Admin."

  2. Click on the "User Security" link located under the System Tools header of the Administration Links section of the screen.

  3. To create a Net Clock Instance, click on the [ADD USER] link located in the upper-left section of the screen (directly to the right of the User Security header). The "User Info” screen opens on the right-hand side of the screen.
    Note:
All fields are optional unless specifically noted otherwise.

  4. Select “Netclock” from the Security Role drop-down menu. The User Info screen changes based on this selection.

  5. Enter the User Name that will be used when logging into the network time clock. The User Name can be comprised of letters, numbers, or a combination of both. There is no required number of characters.
    Note:
    This field is required.

  6. Enter the Password that will be used when logging into the network time clock. The Password can be comprised of letters, numbers, or a combination of both. There is no required number of characters.
    Note:
    This field is required.

  7. Re-type the chosen password into the Confirm Password field.
    Note:
    This field is required.

  8. If this is an existing instance, the Password Last Changed field displays the date of the last time that the password was changed (if applicable).

  9. If you would like the system to require this user to change their password the first time they log into the system, put a check mark in the Require Password Change option.

  10. The Time Offset field is used when you have employees clocking in at the network time clock from a different time zone. Based on this setting, the system will automatically adjust all times entered from this netclock instance to compensate for the difference in hours between time zones. Leave this field at “0” if you do not want the system to automatically adjust the time.

  11. Select “Executive Client,” “IQ500” or "Advanced" from the Interface drop-down menu. This setting allows you to select which type of time clock you want to use.

    • Executive Client: The executive client allows you to enter a punch by selecting the punch criteria from drop-down menus. For example, the employee is selected from a drop-down menu, as are any department, job, or task entries. This makes it so that you do not have to use Employee, Department, Job, and Task numbers when punching.

    • IQ500: This time clock client displays a graphic of the IQ500 time clock. In order to punch in employees must enter their card number, and any additional department, job, or task numbers just as they would when punching in at a physical time clock.

    • Advanced: The advanced client is an advanced network time clock with the ability to require users to enter a password when clocking in or out. The IQ 1000 Password on the employee's profile is used as their network time clock password.
Note: Before users will be able to punch using the Advanced netclock, they must first be assigned to the clock in the system. See the "Assigning Employees to an Advanced Network Time Clock" section below for more information.

  12. Click on the [UPDATE] icon located in the upper right-hand corner of the screen to add the netclock instance.

You should now be able to log out of the TimeForce system and log into the network time clock using the User Name and Password that you just created.

Assigning Employees to an Advanced Network Time Clock

The main User Info screen for an Advanced network time clock contains a section at the bottom of the screen called Assigned Employees.

To assign employees to an Advanced netclock, click on the icon located to the right of the "Assigned Employees" header. The "Unassigned Employees" and "Assigned Employees" boxes appear.

From the "Unassigned Employees" box, select each employee that you would like to assign to this network time clock. Hold down the {CTRL} or {SHIFT} keys on your keyboard while clicking to select multiple employees.

Click on the icon to assign the selected employees to the network time clock.  The selected names are moved to the "Assigned Employees" box.

Once you have finished assigning the desired employees, click on the [UPDATE] icon to save the changes that you have made.
