Setting Up Rates

Rates allow you to select a specific rate of pay that employees working this job are to receive.

Rate Definitions

The following rates can be assigned to a job:

  • Employee Rate-- Any employee working on this job will receive an extra percentage on top of their base pay.
    Example:
The formula is set to "Employee Base Rate x 1.5 x Job."  The employee will receive an extra time-and-a-half on top of their base rate of pay for every hour worked on this job.

  • Flat Rate-- Any employee working on this job will receive the specified hourly pay rate.
    Example:
The formula is set to "12.00."  Any employee working on this job will receive twelve dollars an hour.

  • Flat Amount-- Any employee working on this job will receive the specified dollar amount regardless of the number of hours worked.
    Example:
The formula is set to "65.00."  Any employee working on this job will receive a flat amount of $65.00, regardless of the number of hours worked.

  • Employee Qty Rate-- An employee's base rate of pay is multiplied by the number of finished pieces, which is then multiplied by the specified number.
    Example:
The formula is set to "Employee Base Rate x Qty x 2."  An employee's base rate of pay is $10.00 an hour.  The employee enters a quantity of "4" at the time clock.  The employee will receive $80.00.

  • Pay by Performance-- An employee working this job will receive the specified dollar amount for every specified quantity.  This option will only be available if the "Allow Tracking of Quantities" has been enabled.
    Example:
The formula is set to "01.00" for every 10 pieces.  If the employee produces 100 pieces, they will receive $10.00."  If the same employee produced 110 pieces, they would receive $11.00."
