Shifts

Shifts allow you to bring your assigned departments, scheduled days, shift start and stop times, and schedule rules together into easily manageable shifts that your employees can then be assigned to.

Creating Shifts

  1. Click on the main "Schedule"program navigation tab.

  2. In the row of sub-links that runs below the main navigation tabs, click on Shifts. The "Shifts" screen opens.

  3. To create a new shift, click on the [CREATE SHIFT] icon located in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. The "Shift Info" screen opens.

  4. Enter a Shift Name (such as "Full Time Employees," "Part Time Employees," etc.).

  5. If you would like to assign this shift to a department level, click on the icon.

  6. The Days field allows you to select the days of the week on which you would like employees assigned to this shift to be scheduled to work.

  7. Enter the Start Time of this shift in 24-hour format.

  8. Enter the End Time of this shift in 24-hour format.

  9. If you would like to assign this shift to a Schedule Rule, make the desired selection from the drop-down menu.

  10. Click on the [SAVE] icon to add the shift to the system.

Editing and Deleting Existing Shifts

Each existing shift is displayed in the main "Shifts" screen.

  • Click on the link under the Name header to edit the desired shift settings.

  • Click on the Copy link to copy the settings of the specified shift and save it as a new shift.

  • To inactivate a shift, click on the icon. Inactive shifts are located under the Inactive Shifts section of the screen. They will not be an available option for selection when employees scheduled, but will be retained in the system for later activation. Click on the Activate link to re-activate a shift.

  • Click on the icon to permanently remove a shift from the system.
