Assigning Shifts
Scheduling by shift allows
you to assign multiple employees to a previously configured shift for
a specified date range.
Note:
Shifts must be added to the system before this type of scheduling can
be used. See Shifts for more information.
Click
on the main "Schedule" navigation tab at the top of the screen.
From
the row of links located below the main navigation tabs, click on Create Schedule.
From
the Schedule Type drop-down menu
located at the top of the screen, select "Shift."
Enter
a Date Range for this schedule.
Click on the icons to select the desired dates from a
calendar.
The
Employees section allows you to
select the employees to whom this schedule applies. To select employees,
click on the arrow icon at the far right of the screen. The Unselected
and Selected boxes appear.
All
of your available employees are displayed in the Unselected
box. To filter this list by the department that your employees are assigned
to, make the desired selection from the Filter
by Department drop-down menu at the top of the screen. Click on
the icon to make your selection from a department map.
Highlight
the desired employees by clicking on their names in the list (hold down
the <CTRL> key on your keyboard while clicking to select multiple
names).
Click
on the [>>] icon to select the highlighted employees. The selected
names are moved to the Selected
box.
Note: If the Selected
box is left empty, schedules will be created for all
employees.
The
Department section allows you
to assign this schedule to a department level. To select department levels,
click on the arrow icon located at the far right of the screen. Your available
department levels are displayed as links. Click on the department levels
that you would like to assign to this schedule. To unassign a department,
click on the link again.
If
you would like to assign this schedule to a specific Supervisor,
make the desired selection from the drop-down menu.
Select
the Shift that you would like
to assign this schedule to from the drop-down menu.
Click
on the [GENERATE SCHEDULE] icon to create the schedule.
