Pay Periods

A Pay Period is the schedule upon which your employees get paid. The available pay periods are as follows:
  • Daily-- Employees assigned to a Daily pay period get paid once a day.
  • Weekly-- Employees assigned to a Weekly pay period get paid once a week.
  • Bi-Weekly-- A Bi-Weekly pay period pays employees once every other week. The starting day is a day of the week (as in Monday, Tuesday, etc.). There are 26 Bi-Weekly pay periods in a year.
  • Semi-Monthly-- A Semi-Monthly pay period pays employees twice a month. The starting days are week dates (as in the 1st and the 15th of every month). There are 24 Semi-Monthly pay periods in a year.
  • Monthly-- Employees assigned to a Monthly pay period get paid once a month.

Pay Period Verification

When setting up Pay Periods, the Admin user has the option of enabling Pay Period Verification. With verification enabled, employees must log into the TimeForce system, view the time & attendance information for the pay period, and “Verify” the time.  This tells the system that the employee agrees that the hours & earnings totals for the pay period are correct.

There are three types of verification, “Employee,” “Supervisor” and “Director.”

Employee Verification
With this option enabled, each employee assigned to the pay period must log into the TimeForce system, view their hours & earnings totals for the pay period and “verify” their Time Card.

Supervisor Verification
This option requires supervisors to log into the TimeForce system, view the hours & earnings totals for the employees they are assigned to supervise, and “verify” their Time Cards.

Director Verification
With this option enabled, a payroll director (or, the employee in charge of processing payroll at the end of the pay period) must log into the TimeForce system, view the hours & earnings totals for the pay period and “verify” Time Cards.

Verification is enabled by Pay Period. For example, the system can be set up so that employees assigned to a “Daily” pay period must verify their time cards, while the employees assigned to a “Bi-Weekly” pay period do not.
