User Security

The User Security section of the software allows you to create and maintain the users that are able to log into the TimeForce software.

To access the User Security section of the program, click on the main Admin navigation tab, and then on the User Security link located under the Company section of the screen.

There are five different types of users, or "Security Roles:"

Administrator

An "Admin" user has full, unrestricted access to all areas of the software. This includes access to all employees, punches, and pay information.

Customized Rights

The access rights for a customized rights user are specified by a system administrator. You must manually specify which employees this user is to have access to, as well as what areas of the software can be accessed, and the types of information that the user will be able to view and/or edit.
Example:
A department manager is set up as a customized rights user. This user can only access the employees that they are assigned to supervise. Although the user is able to manually edit time and attendance punches, they do not have access to their employees' personal and salary information.

Employee

An employee user is allowed minimal access to the TimeForce system, and can only view their own time and attendance data.
Note:
The access rights for an Employee user are not configurable. To create a user whose access rights can be manually configured, create a "Customized Rights" user.

Supervisor

A supervisor user is much like an employee user. They are allowed minimal access to the TimeForce software, and can only view their own time and attendance data, and the data of those employees that they are assigned to supervise.
Note:
The access rights for a supervisor user are not configurable. To create a user whose access rights can be manually configured, create a "Customized Rights" user.

Net Clock

A network time clock (or, net clock) is a virtual time clock that runs on a computer workstation, as opposed to a physical time clock connected to your computer, phone line or network.

A net clock "instance" is created within the TimeForce software, and a username and password are assigned to the virtual clock. Once this instance has been created you can log into the TimeForce software using the net clock username and password. This opens a network time clock on this machine, allowing your employees to clock in and out from the computer workstation.
